"When I first came on board overseeing all of the Group Fitness Managers in the corporate owned
Gold's Gyms on the East Coast, we were having major issues with our group cycling bikes. Problems with our bikes
was one of the biggest member complaints we would get - the maintenance on our bikes definitely wasn't up to par.
Our group cycling programs are extremely popular, and our members expect bikes in good working order. Bikes were
always breaking down or not functioning properly, parts took forever to come in causing bikes to sit on the sides
of the room with "out of order" signs. I knew we had to do something otherwise our members would continue to get
frustrated, and perhaps even look for another gym to join.
We hired in Yingling Services in February of 2009 to do "preventative maintenance" on our bikes. Bill and I worked
out the contactual agreements (which worked out beautifully for both sides) and we have since seen huge
improvements in the program. We rarely have a bike down and if we do, we never have to worry about handling it.
Bill and his team take care of everything. Our bikes will last longer since they are being so well maintained,
therefore saving the company a ton of money in expenses (fixing equipment/parts as well as ordering new bikes) in
the long run. The best part is we have happy members! Yingling Services is one of the friendliest, most
