Marine Fixed Ballast Design and Application

Jim Yingling was part of a team in the early 1980's working for Genstar Stone Products Company which developed and created the Ballast-Crete® brand of ship ballast. Over the years, the company has changed hands and now is operated by Lafarge. The Lafarge Ballast-Crete® brand is currently licensed to BC Technical.

For more than two decades Jim has been instrumental in constructing mix designs to meet almost any challenge and has been part of concept-to-completion on numerous projects throughout the World. He is well known and respected in and around the ship yard and marine fixed ballast industries.

Jim has worked closely with BC Technical since 2006, when BC Technical gained license rights to the Lafarge Ballast-Crete® brand, and helped to complete projects as recently as 2007. He has also worked on several large scale proposals with BC Technical throughout 2008.
